Pallet sofa type A

The first step is to build the backrest of the pallet. To do that we will build a very simple structure using 4 wooden strips (green color) and create inside of it a surface using 6 yellow strips.

When you have the structure finished, probably you will notice that is a bit woobly, not 100% stable and twists a bit with lateral stress. Fixing that is as easy as placing another wooden strip in diagonal along the surface of it and screw it on every other strip behind it.

If you want to make sure this extra wooden strip gives the backrest complete structural strength, we recommend you to place the screws in different places along the strip. In other words: do not place them in straight line. 

Here you can see how the backrest looks like when the diagonal wooden strip is in place.

Now you should have a very stable backrest structure that does not twist with lateral stresses.

When you have finished the backrest is time to put it in place.

As you can see, we made it simple for this pallet sofa: the seat is built using two american-type pallets one on top of each other and the backrest is attached to them from the back. Easy, quick and  headache-free.

In this last step you have to sand the pallet sofa to avoid splinters. After sanding you can leave it as it is, paint it or oil it.

There are a lot of companies that prepare cushions for pallet furniture. As an optional last step for your pallet sofa place the cushions you just bought and voilá you pallet sofa is 100% finished. Enjoy it! 🙂
