What are the materials and tools you will need for this palet sofa/armchair?
You will need:
Some other materials that are not mandatory but highly recommended for safety reasons are:
Here you have a view of the pallet we are using for this furniture along with an exploded view of the pallet itself. That way you can locate each one of the parts used for the model. Note that some parts might not be used for this specific model.
For this pallet sofa/armchair you will need 3 american-type pallets: 2 for the seat and 1 for the backrest.
On one pallet you will need to take away the two strips that are in the edges to build the armrest in the next step.
Place the two pallets one on top of the other and take away the wooden strip of the edges (green color).
Then, place 3 blocks on each side to use as a base for the arm rest (to be built in the next step).
When you have the blocks in palce, put in place the wooden strip that makes the armrest structure. The armrest is finished.
Do the same for both sides.
The backrest is built using a third pallet that is placed in the back of the structure.
If the sofa will be against a wall you will probably not need to attach it very strong.
A few decking screws from the back would be enough to hold it in place.
When the model is finished you hace to sand it to avoid splinters. You can also paint or oil it.
As an optional step you can find cushions for this pallet sofa/armchair to make it extra comfortable.
Enjoy your new pallet sofa! 🙂
